Do you know where the world’s most isolated post office is located?
If not, know that it exists in the continent of Antarctica.
It is named after Port Lockery, located on Goudier Island in Antarctica.
This UK post office has recently recruited 4 women who will work there from November to March.
By the way, this historic building is also the first British base in Antarctica.
Basically, this post office is based on 3 buildings.
The first building, named Burnsfield House, houses a museum, shop, and post office.
The second building is for the boat shed and equipment storage while the third building houses the staff quarters.
The 4 women who were employed to work in the place did not get the job easily.
In fact, more than 6,000 people applied, out of which these four were selected.
These women will work at the site for 5 months during which they will have to work in sub-freezing temperatures.
This place is being opened for the first time after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The four women are tasked with different tasks, one woman will try to find out the number of penguins there, the population of which is quite high, which is why it is also called the Penguin Post Office.
A woman has been instructed to manage 80,000 cards sent from this place to 100 countries of the world.
One woman will run the gift shop while the fourth will be her team leader.
